Year of its production for Somalia, the Bavarian State Mint created a puzzle coin that features a unique 2015 coin in the center, with interlocking pieces that go around the outside featuring all the reverse designs dating back to 2004. The nation has been the representative in the coin series since that time, though its ability to back the coin as currency has always been in doubt. The Bavarian State Mint is a state-owned entity of the Free Republic of Bavaria, and is headquartered in Munich. The Mint is one of four state-owned entities in Germany, and though it produces these coins for the government in Somalia. Though its ability to back the coin as currency has always been in doubt. Nevertheless, these coins are increasingly popular for the unique designs that change on an annual basis. Encircling the center are 12 interlocking puzzle pieces of pure silver, each one sporting the dated design of one of the past Somali Elephant coins. The whole ensemble locks together to form a 1 kilo montage of stunning elephant images. OBVERSE: The obverse of the centre has the Somali coat of arms, and the denomination of 800 Shillings. The reverse of each puzzle piece also carries the Somali coat of arms, and has the face value of 100 shillings. This makes a total of 2000 Shillings total face value.
