This attractive 5 Oz Silver coin is the second issue in the Big Five series and features a beautiful close-up of an Elephant, known to be one of the most intelligent animals on Earth. The coin has an incredible high relief and an Antique Finish quality, comes packed in a beautiful luxury wooden case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to only 999 pieces worldwide. Most genera and species in the family are extinct. Only two genera, Loxodonta (African elephants) and Elephas (Asiatic elephants), are living. The family was first described by John Edward Gray in 1821, and later assigned to taxonomic ranks within the order Proboscidea.
